put your hands in God’s soil.....
four men respond to God’s call:
Pastor Al Taylor--Senior Pastor of Infinity Mennonite Church in Harlem, Scott Winters--Actor, Pastor Dimas Salaberrios--Senior Pastor of Infinity NY Church, and Bob Thompson--Investment Banker, left NYC together on January 17, 2010 as a result of a call God placed on their hearts. They landed in Santo Domingo with medical supplies donated by various NY hospitals along with basic food and water for the team. From there they were able to procure additional food and water to be transported to Port au Prince via rented vans, arriving in Port au Prince six days after the earthquake. This small footprint strategy proved efficient with a targeted approach allowing the team to deploy quickly. Once settled at a church facility in the Delmas area the team set out to serve. In what became Phase One of the Haiti Mission, they were first responders to many of the camps which had yet to receive medical aid or food and water. They performed mobile medical triage in the refugee camps, transforming their vans into ambulances to transport the most severe cases to various field hospitals, provided basic food and water and prayed for the Haitian people. Eleven days after the quake, they were first responders to an orphanage and were able to provide water and Enfamil to the children.
